HydroGuard carbon steel arresters reduce and eliminate hydraulic shock (water hammer) with state-of-the-art diaphragm technology. An internal diaphragm divides the arrester into an air chamber and a water chamber; the sealed air chamber acts as a cushion that is compressed when the water pressure suddenly rises due to a hydraulic shock. The arrester is best installed as close as possible to the point where the shock originates (valve or pipework). HydroGuard arresters are certified and approved for drinking water systems and are therefore safe for your drinking water.
